Accessibility
Effective 8 August 2026
We want every reader to be able to use this site, including readers who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard, or magnification.
What we aim for
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We are not claiming to have met every criterion. We are telling you what we are measuring ourselves against.
What we have done
- Written descriptive alternative text for the press, gallery, audiobook and store images, so screen readers describe what is there.
- Kept text at a size and contrast that stays readable against the dark design.
- Used real headings in order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.
- Made the site work at phone, tablet and desktop widths without horizontal scrolling.
Where we know we fall short
A small number of images still need alternative text, and some embedded third-party content — video players, the email signup form, the checkout — is built by other companies and is not fully under our control. We raise problems with those providers when we find them.
Tell us when something does not work
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please write to rj@rjhalbert.com and tell us what happened, what page you were on, and what you were using. We will reply, and if we can fix it we will.
If you cannot reach something you need — a book description, an excerpt, a purchase link — write to us and we will get it to you another way.
